I’m super excited, I’ll be doing it with my sister!
The panel will be called How Do I Make THAT? How to Research and Plan Your Cosplay This will be the first panel I’ve ever done, but don’t worry, we’ll be doing lots of planning ahead of time!
It’ll be earlier Friday, July 12, at 9:30 to 10:30 in the morning. So if you’re there and interested in what we have to say, feel free to stop by!

Decided I definitely want to get a Semper Fidelis (aka Semper Fi) tattoo. It’s Latin for “Always Loyal/Faithful”. I first heard it in MGS2 too, so for me it’s got a special nostalgic attachment to it. I might do that one right over my heart, back or front.
I really want to do something related…
I’m a fan of the ‘57-86’ number/barcode chest tattoo. However, if you want something that doesn’t require a specific location, what about a calligraphy version of the kanji for ‘raiden’ and incorporate lightning into the backround or in negative over the strokes (assuming it’s big enough to work an image in the negative space.)
Ooooh, that’s a good idea! I thought about the kanji before, but a lightning bolt in the back of it or around it would make for an awesome look. Thanks~! :D
sure thing. (I’ve since edited and added more ideas to the post. …I’ve thought about mgs tattoos before myself ahaha)
Not to rain on your parade, smittenlotus, but you DO realize that “Semper Fi” is the US Marine’s motto right? A lot of Marines get it tattooed on them, so if you get it someone might think you’re a Marine/former Marine. And uh, if they find out you’re not they might be a little ‘wtf’ about it. Just a heads up <:
(Of course, if you don’t live in the US it’s probably never gonna be an issue)

Whatever happened to “You need to be happy in what you’re doing with your life” ?

BODY LANGUAGE REFERENCE SHEET
I’ve been reading up on body language and stuff trying to make my comics less stiff. I put my notes into reference sheet form so other people can use them. I actually took a while making this, so I hope you guys find it interesting!
Also, this font didn’t have apostrophes or quotes so a lot of things seem awkward!? Sorry about that.
This is the best thing.
This is very useful for creating certain moods with people in images. Useful tips on the lower body as well, something that not too many guides cover!

I’d be interested! Though I’m not too hot about a white shirt with black text, we could go with something moar sexy. orrrrr I could totes make a graphic for it??? EITHER WAY TAKE MY MONEYS
I agree that it could be spiced up a bit, but I’m not so sure if a graphic would be the way to go. For…
I wasn’t thinking anything too drastic for a graphic. Maybe a picture of Kojima faded behind the words and looking ‘glitched’ (or course that’s just what came off the top of my head.
Alternatively, we could use a font that’s distinct for the games. I’m thinking along the lines of the font used in Codec scenes / menus as opposed to the title font (that font is really obnoxious to read tbh).
these are all just ideas and i would still get the shirt yo

You might be curious as to what I’m writing about when I’m talking about ‘commission forms’. It was for a product idea that I still haven’t quite gotten off the ground due to school, work, and playing too much Mass Effect u.u
The first page is, yet again, more sketches and thumbnails for a school project from last semester. We were required to do a Photoshop collage creating a surreal scene using royalty-free images off the web. Honestly, it’s hard for me to do things like that because they usually end up looking extremely cheesy. I then decided to, with the permission of the teacher, go Hard Mode and try to do a digital painting instead of a plain photo-manip because I thought it’d look better. In the end, I ran out of time and I had a painted background with a photo of the person in the foreground.
The right page you can see I started drawing a design of a hidden blade (which I scrapped), then an attempt at my female sniper which was terrible, and a really nicely finished drawing of my Fem! Scout looking off in the distance (perhaps glaring at the other side of 2Fort atop the buildings?). I’m pretty proud of it, since I feel that it has a nice dimensional quality to it.
I think I also wrote down a URL I was investigating about the tech industry. It’s a pretty good read!

Let me tell you about this two-page spread!
First page, we have me working on a package design for my advanced computer graphics class last semester. I chose to do a cylinder design due to the fact that there wasn’t going to be too many complicated 3D surfaces to replicate in a 2D format (because, well, it’s a cylinder). Because of the simple template, it gave me more time to give a polished look to the package design itself. We had to aim the product at a certain demographic and make sure it was doing that successfully. Because I was using screen textures, I had a lot of fine-tuning to do with the font.
The second page is a T-shirt design that I might never use, but it was something that I thought would be pretty cool to have. I like the message I chose for it because it’s not a direct ‘fuck off’ but it still gets the point across c:
As a general rule, I find that with most of my designs, the urge to incorporate hand-drawn elements is over-powering, since digital work can sometimes be too clean and clinical (plus I really like drawing :> )

I think this picture sums up my PAX East experience!
It was AWESOME! I would type out a whole thing here but ehh, I already did that on another website.
Basically, I can’t find any pictures of my RED Fem!Spy cosplay, but I was offered twice during the con to come up to the Twitch TV booth (first time that’s happened with my cosplays tbh) on Sunday for the cosplay contest! Unfortunately I didn’t have a Sunday pass… But the Naked Snake I made friends with did, and he won forth place along with a Raiden that was pretty awesome! He said he’s also coming to Anime Boston, which is also another convention I’m attending, so I’m definitely looking forward to introducing him to our little Metal Gear cosplay family c:
I’m hoping in the future to get an actual photoshoot of my cosplay, since I’ve been working on it for forever and most of my friends aren’t exactly professional photogs… :’D
I’ll be posting up some more sketches shortly, don’t worry!
